WEARABLE ART, MADE FROM ANTIQUE CUTLERY

I once read that, back in the days when grand houses had poor servants, a couple who couldn't afford a wedding ring would sometimes steal a small piece of precious metal in the form of a spoon. The rich employer was unlikely to miss it, and the couple could have it made into a symbol of their love. The story really caught my imagination and so I began reinventing solid silver cutlery as jewellery. On this page you'll find spoon rings, sugar tong cuffs, and a range of other lovely things that are created from antique cutlery. Many have an antique hallmark showing their original life, and these have been re-registered with the Assay Office for change of use. Better than stealing from your boss...
